Although, I was initially brought to the Fort Leonard Wood area as a soldier, I soon realized that this area offered everything that I was looking for in a permanent home. Friendly people laid back lifestyle, and beautiful scenery. What a great place for a family and to raise my daughter, Shelby. So, when my service to my country was finished, I was fortunate enough to be able to settle here in Pulaski County. The community has welcomed us with open arms and now, even after 16 years here, I still couldn't imagine leaving.
My Real Estate career began in 1995 when I started buying investment properties, which naturally evolved into getting my Real Estate license and eventually opening Cross Creek Realty. I co-founded Cross Creek Realty about 11 years ago. When I'm not selling Real Estate I enjoy spending time with my family, friends and giving back to my community. I'm an animal fanatic and love living in the beautiful Ozarks with its many changing moods. I have an amazing daughter who attends Waynesville High School and who is the light of my life!
I retired as a Command Sergeant Major in 2000 after serving 28 years in the United States Army. My family and I lived in numerous areas of the United States while serving. The relatively low cost of living, recreation opportunities, friendly people, good school, and the centralized location made our family's decision to stay in Pulaski County an easy one. My wife, Janet, teaches in the Laquey School District. Our son will graduate from Oklahoma State University in May, 2011. After retirement I got involved in several community organizations. I served as Scoutmaster for Troop 202 and later was elected to the Waynesville City Council where I continue to serve. My family and I would like to welcome you and I look forward to assisting you and your family in your transition to the area.
Growing up in Missouri has given me an appreciation for the Ozarks beauty. I love its changing season, the friendliness of the people, and the non congested scenic roadways. When the Army sent us to Hawaii those were the things I missed. I've had the opportunity to work in the Real Estate market here for nearly 19 years. It has been a great place for my family to invest in and make a living. Our one and only son is getting a great education at one of Missouri's finest colleges in Springfield. Hope to meet you soon!
Kay Popejoy Realtor: I have always enjoyed meeting and helping people which is one of the main reasons I decided to become a Realtor. Raising four children and traveling a lot with the military has definitely been a challenge, but one that has made me appreciate all that I have. Cost of living, the friendly people and the Ozark beauty made staying in this area an obvious choice for my husband Glen and me, once he retired from the Army. In our free time we like going to the lake and playing Texas Hold'em.

We have spent countless hours in the classroom continuing our education so that we can pass that Expertise to you, our buyers and sellers. I have been married to my wonderful wife Kay for 24 years. We have four fantastic children and two beautiful grandchildren. I grew up as a military dependent and retired from the Army after 22 years of active duty service. I thoroughly enjoy working with and taking care of people. We understand the difficulties associated with relocating. Kay and I have over 14 years of Real estate experience in the greater Ft. Leonard Wood area. We know our market, and will provide the most professional Real Estate service that you will ever experience. In my spare time I enjoy family, friends, and sports.
Cross Creek Realty has been my work home of choice since the fall of 2002. It has given me great satisfaction working with the different personalities in our office, knowing that we are working toward one common goal; which is doing all we can to make every customer happy with selling or purchasing a property.
My husband Dave and I love spending our spare time outdoors enjoying the fresh air and ever changing outdoor scenery. Our local countryside always has something new and beautiful to offer for us to enjoy with each passing season. 1-573-774-3500
